Working Title Films will be remaking the Icelandic thriller "Reykjavik-Rotterdam" for a potential starring vehicle for Mark Wahlberg.
Wahlberg is attached to produce the film alongside Leverage's Sephen Levinson as well as Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title Films.
Oskar Jonansson directed the original which is Iceland's foreign-language submission for the next Oscars. The story concerns an former worker on a freight ship who is fired for smuggling alcohol between Reykjavik and Rotterdam. Struggling to make ends meet as a security guard, he is tempted by his best friend to sign on for one last job.
Aaron Guzikowski of "Prisoners" is writing the screenplay.
