In the new suspenseful four-hour miniseries "Meteor," two scientists, Dr. Lehman (Emmy Award winner Christopher Lloyd, "Back to the Future") and Imogene O’Neil (Marla Sokoloff, "The Practice") discover that the giant meteor Kassandra, approximately three times the size of Mt. Everest, has been knocked out of its orbit and is now barreling straight for Earth, as showers of smaller meteorites begin to lay waste to major cities around the globe.
Desperate to alert authorities, Dr. Lehman and Imogene contact military scientist Dr. Chetwyn (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Jason Alexander, "Seinfeld") who discounts their warnings of impending doom. Undeterred, the two determined scientists decide to drive from Mexico to the nearest United States armed forces base to plead their case. The military, who has also detected the meteor, calls in Dr. Chetwyn to help devise a solution to destroy it.
Realizing that Dr. Lehman and Imogene were right, Dr. Chetwyn desperately tries to contact them for more information. Struggling to make it across the border, they run into trouble and Imogene is forced to make the trek alone. With time quickly running out, Imogene continues her tortuous journey to get in touch with the military and relay the coordinates and a plan to destroy Kassandra.
