Park Chan-wook is set to take the helm of Corsica 72, based on a true story which Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Skyfall) are scripting. The period piece tells of two friends who live on the island of Corsica. They follow different paths in life where the one becomes a gangster and the other a hard working man, weaving in a story of a woman who comes between them.
Variety reports that 1984 Private Defense Contractors Adi Shankar and Spencer Silna are producing alongside Ruby Films' Paul Trijbits and Alison Owen.
The script made appeared on the 2009 Black List.
Oldboy helmer Chan-wook made his English-language debut on Fox Searchlight Pictures' upcoming Stoker, starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode. He's also signed up for directing duties on The Brigands of Rattleborge western crime drama.
