Nurse Jackie has been given a fifth season renewal by Showtime just prior to its June 17th fourth-season finale air date, reports Deadline.
The comedy airs on Sundays and pulled in over 1.1 million viewers for the fourth season premiere. Now, for the fifth season, Clyde Phillips, former executive producer of Dexter is on board as showrunner.
David Nevins, prexy of entertainment at Showtime said that “Clyde brings a unique combination of skills in both comedy and drama, and he is a master at making entertaining and compelling television."
Nurse Jackie stars Edie Falco, Eve Best, Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Peter Facinelli, Ruby Jerins, Stephen Wallem and Dominic Furmusa.
The Emmy Award-winning show is created by Evan Dunsky, Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius.
