Major League Baseball (MLB) teams continued to honor the legacy of Brooklyn Dodgers great Jackie Robinson's entry into the big leagues and shattering the color barrier with special events around Jackie Robinson Day. The baseball drama 42 also remained in the spotlight with The Hollywood Reporter confirming that Grey’s Anatomy cast member T.R. Knight signed on to play Dodgers traveling secretary Harold Parrott.
Knight, who received an Emmy nomination for his role as Dr. George O’Malley, joined a cast that includes 28-year-old actor Ryan Merriman, best known for his work in the horror thrillers Final Destination 3 and The Ring Two, as Brooklyn Dodgers right fielder Dixie Walker with Chadwick Boseman as Robinson.
Christopher Meloni signed on to play Brooklyn Dodgers manager Leo Durocher and Harrison Ford joined the biopic as Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey.
Writer/director Brian Helgeland and Legendary chairman Thomas Tull worked with the full cooperation of Robinson's widow, Rachel Robinson.
Fans, what do you think of the cast for 42? Are you excited to see a baseball movie based on Robinson's historic entry to Major League Baseball and shattering the color barrier?
