Fans of last summer's retro action film The Expendables received great news when Cinema Blend reported that ‘80s action stars Jean-Claude Van Damme (JCVD) and Chuck Norris joined veteran director Simon West on the highly anticipated sequel.
West, who last directed Expendables star Jason Statham in The Mechanic, as well as past action hits Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, boarded the Millennium Films and Lionsgate project and brought on Van Damme and Norris to join Sylvester Stallone and his fellow action vets including Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Randy Couture.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis also agreed to reprise their roles for the sequel to the worldwide hit.
No word yet on where the next Expendables movie would take place, although scribes Ken Kaufman and David Agosto recently wrapped the script that has the Expendables in search of the people responsible for killing Mickey Rourke’s character in the first movie.
