Twilight is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands – and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?

Question:

So you're the bad guy?

Cam Gigandet:

"I'm the bad guy!"

Question:

Do you lilke playing the bad guy?

Cam Gigandet:

"Yeah, you know, it just doesn't get any better than that. They just have more freedom with everything. They can do things that the good guys just can't, and it doesn't reallty get any better than that. You know, they just abide by a different set of rules and they can have fun while doing it. So yeah, I like it."

Question:

Do you have any negative fans who aren't thrilled to see you because of the bad guy role?

Cam Gigandet:

"I wouldn't actually know. I guess the only place I would get that information would be, you know, online but actually, I try to avoid it. I don't know if I have the skills or the capability to deal with that kind of response. My dad reads it, but he only tells me the good stuff so it kind of works out" *laugh*

Question:

Since you have these superpowers in the film, what was your favorite special effect?

Cam Gigandet:

"I think that the coolest thing for me is actually quite simple. It's something called the magic carpet. We're just walking on the grass but we're actually walking on a five by fifty foot plexiglass...thing." *laughs" He continues "It's attached to like a winch, so it's basically going...you know it's being pulled at like fifteen miles an hour and we're just walking normally. You know, we had to practise because it's a little wierd but once we start walking and they bring up the speed...you know, you're just like flying by. You're just kind of walking at twenty five miles an hour. It was pretty cool."

["Magic Carpet" also mentioned by Rachelle Lefevre during her interview]

Question:

Did you fall?

Cam Gigandet:

"I didn't fall. Well, actually, the only time we would actually fall is when the winch stops, because then your body's still going forward."

Question:

Are you a fan of the genre?

Cam Gigandet:

"Yeah, I love vampire movies and I love love stories. At the end of the day, all that really matters, to me at least, is kind of what the story is that's being told and it doesn't matter whether it's a horror, thriller, sci-fi, you know. If the story is being told as something relatable that interests me, I enjoy it."

Question:

How was it to work with Catherine? [Hardwicke]

Cam Gigandet:

"Catherine was great. From the very beginning she had this energy that was infectious, you know? Even on days when we had such weather problems. So many problems...with mud and everything, and no matter what...and it's twenty five degrees out and it's not good, she just had that energy that made you want to push forward and keep powering through. You know, it just gave you that extra lift. When it came to the acting, you just wanted to do your best."

Question:

How long did the film shoot for?

Cam Gigandet:

"I think it was two and a half months. I only actually worked for the first four weeks, three weeks. All of my stuff kind of got jammed into the first three weeks. It was daunting, I mean, the very first scene taht we did was the big fight at the end in the valet studio. So that was the very first thing we shot which was" *sighs* and continues "oh...that was exhausting. It was hard. Long days and some physical work which is...looking at it now it was all worth it."

Question:

But you should be used to the physical work because you were in "Never Back Down" as well.

Cam Gigandet:

"Yeah, you'd think I would be! You know, I'm not. It's such like a rollercoaster ride. Once 'Never Back Down' was done I would easily stay away from the gym by at least seven miles, that was the closest I coujld get. Then this happens and you're just like right back onto it. Even mentally it's hard to get back onto that commitment."
