BELLFLOWER Comic-Con 2011 Interviews with Evan Glodell, Tyler Dawson and Jessie Wiseman
It's almost impossible for a small-budget indie to see the inside of a movie theaters these days, especially one that's as small and as indie as Even Glodell's Bellflower. But his movie, which he also wrote and starred in, is an impressive debut, one that's full of muscle and gristle that's accompanied by emotional and physical violence. Glodell plays Woodrow, an L.A. slacker who spends all his spare time with his best friend Aidan (Tyler Dawson), building flamethrowers and guns in anticipation of the impending apocalypse. Their belief that the world is coming to an end is mostly tongue-in-cheek, but these two misfits are obsessed with The Road Warrior. At least they are until Woodrow meets Milly (Jessie Wiseman), a ballsy girl who warns him, early on, that if they get together she will end up hurting him. The pain does come to pass, and Woodrow's life is thrown into an emotional apocalypse that he never counted on. It's a film that devolves into violence, and Glodell never pulls his punches, but he's a smart enough director to never lay down all his cards. Though Bellflower didn't have an official presence at Comic-Con, all three actors were in town, accompanied by the Medusa, the souped-up fire-breathing car that is as much a presence in the film as any of the actors....Read news article.
Comic-Con 2011. Conan the Barbarian interviews with Stephen Lang and producer Fredrik Malmberg
These days, Stephen Lang is best known for playing the bad guy in "Avatar." But prior to his new high-profile film career, Lang was a celebrated stage actor for decades, earning a Tony nomination and originating the part Jack Nicholson earned an Oscar nomination for in "A Few Good Men." He takes on the part of the villain once again, playing Khalar Zym in the new adaptation of "Conan the Barbarian," which comes out in both 2 and 3-D on August 19. Lang appeared at this year's Comic-Con to promote both "Conan" and his forthcoming television show "Terra Nova," and he and "Conan" producer Fredrik Malmberg sat down for roundtable interviews.

Stephen, you were known as a stage actor for decades, and recently your on-screen career has taken off. Do all those years on the stage help you on screen?

Stephen Lang: You're a product of your experience, it seems to me. Whether I'm good or bad, I gotta say I am experienced. I've been doing it for a long time. Look, acting, fundamentally, whether you're acting on stage or acting on film, there are more similarities than there are differences. The fact is that when you're working on stage as much as I have, you really learn how to rehearse, you learn how to read a script, or you don't, and you don't really survive. But it contributes. You have an eye and an ear for language, maybe. I wish I could give you a more definitive answer, but the best I can say......Read news article.

Sons of Anarchy at Comic-Con 2011

Upcoming-Movies.com speaks to stars Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal, as well as creator Kurt Sutter at Comic-Con 2011.

The eagerly-followed winner from FX debuted in 2008 and has amassed a solid fan base. The cast also includes Tommy Flanagan, Mark Boone Junior, Kim Coates, Maggie Siff and Theo Rossi.

FX's original series, Sons of Anarchy, is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, Charming. Comic-Con 2011 FRIGHT NIGHT press conference with Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Craig Gillespie and Marti Noxon
Fright Night at Comic-Con!

Colin Farrell's a busy guy at this year's Comic-Con, having two reboots to front, including Fright Night as well as Len Wiseman's Total Recall. Good thing we caught him prior to his rushing off to the next engagement.

Alongside Colin Farrell was other stars Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Marti Noxon.

The remake of Fright Night is getting some mixed feelings from other press members I spoke to at Comic-Con. Personally, I'm a big fan of the original and was a bit sceptical about a revamp. That said, with Craig Gillespie at the wheel and such an instriguing cast, I think this should bring in big numbers come box office debut day on August 19th....Read news article.
Comic-Con 2011. We speak to CONAN THE BARBARIAN stars Jason Momoa and Rachel Nichols!
Jason Momoa and Rachel Nichols interview for Conan the Barbarian at Comic-Con 2011

It can be challenging for any actor to take on a role made famous by someone else. That's especially true for Jason Momoa, who is playing the titular character in Marcus Nispel's new adaptation of "Conan the Barbarian." How often, after all, is one asked to fill the shoes of Arnold Schwarzenegger? But Momoa—who was also at Comic-Con to promote his other project, HBO's Game of Thrones—doesn't seem to be afraid of much, and appears to be up to the task. Self-deprecating and funny, he conducted roundtable interviews with his co-star, Rachel Nichols, who plays Tamara in the film. The two had an easy chemistry between them, one you hope would carry over to the film itself. "Conan the Barbarian," which will be shown in 3-D, is slated for an August 19 release....Read news article.

Comic-Con 2011 THE DEVIL'S DOUBLE interview with Dominic Cooper

Comic-Con 2011 THE DEVIL
We speak to The Devil's Double star Dominic Cooper at Comic-Con for the Lee Tamahori film

Over the course of Comic-Con, I watched "The Devil's Double" late one night, and then returned to the theater the next morning to see "Captain America." Both of those movies feature Dominic Cooper, who effectively plays four roles between them. In "Captain America," he's Howard Stark, forebear to none other than Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. In Lee Tamahori's "The Devil's Double," he's doing triple-duty, playing Latif Yahia, an Iraqi man who was coerced into being the fiday—the public body double—for Uday Hussein, Saddam's son, whose insanity and sadism were simply legendary. But he also plays Uday at the same time, and the two characters often shared the screen at the same time through the miracle of CGI. On top of all of that, Cooper......Read news article.
