The Avengers. From simply the title alone, even if you are one who has never seen any of the Marvel films, you might expect that this movie will scream of action. Marvel's The Avengers soared to new heights not only within the box office but with the audience's adrenaline.
Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) remained to be the sarcastic and cocky genius that most have come to love. The characters' personalities were kept the same. The ways in which the writers managed to have the characters interact with each other was splendid. It did not feel awkward nor forced.
One theme that I particularly enjoyed was the interaction between Iron Man and Captain America. In markedly opposing styles, Iron Man must learn how to cope with Captain America's (the first superhero) old style while Captain America is required to deal with Iron Man's innovative technology of the modern times. It lent to an interesting perspective and reminded the viewer how much things have changed in the superhero realm. Nonetheless, Iron Man insists on making a few smarmy comments to Captain America regarding his ways.
Another thing that I liked was how Captain America led the pack of superheroes. I was concerned that the filmmakers would push the character to the back of the scenes, but Captain America was in full force and leading the way. Despite today's technology and Captain America's "time at sea", he was consistent in providing effective leadership toward his fellow superheroes.
This movie was fantastic. At moments, you might even feel like a kid again. Grab your superhero cape and fly away to daring adventures with Marvel's The Avengers! =)
