Will Ferrell and his Gary Sanchez Productions partner Adam McKay teamed up with their Step Brothers and The Other Guys actor Rob Riggle for a new comedy series at HBO. Deadline reported that Riggle developed the idea of a Wolf of Wall Street-like show about a hard-living boss in the world of ‘80s Wall Street traders. Riggle also signed on to play the lead as well as co-produce the show with Ferrell and McKay.
A frequent Gary Sanchez Productions collaborator, writer Chris Henchy boarded the series as co-writer alongside McKay.
Riggle recently appeared in 21 Jump Street and voiced one of the characters in Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
Ferrell recently appeared in the comedy Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie and starred in the Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi Padre, playing a Mexican rancher who tangles with a drug lord and his brother's fiancée while trying to save his father's ranch.
Up next for Ferrell is the political comedy The Campaign costarring Dylan McDermott, Zach Galifianakis and Jason Sudeikis about competing presidential candidates. Ferrell also agreed to re-team with his The Other Guys co-star Mark Wahlberg on the football comedy Three Mississippi with Other Guys director McKay also on-board to direct the Warner Bros. comedy.
