Disney Pixar's looks to top the box office with another winner in Brave as Abraham Lincoln stakes adults
With 4,164 theaters and a broad age group target, Brave should post big numbers this weekend. The film under the helm of Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman, and co-helmer Steve Purcell, features the voice talents of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane.
Fox's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter scripted by the novel's writer Seth Grahame-Smith and helmed by Wanted's Timur Bekmambetov, finds 3,106 theatres and should post no threat to the animated film. Cast includes Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, Robin McLeavy and Jimmi Simpson.
In 1,618 theaters, Fox Features' Seeking a Friend for the End of the World skewers fans seeking romance and comedy, with popular Steve Carell and Keira Knightley frontlining. Pic may turn in a decent per-theater average, with a decent supporting cast including Melinda Dillon, Melanie Lynskey, Patton Oswalt, Adam Brody, Connie Britton, T.J. Miller, Gillian Jacobs, William Petersen, Rob Cordrry, Laura Liz Perloe, Derek Luke and Rob Huebel.
In more limited venues, Sony Pictures Classics' To Rome With Love helmed by Woody Allen should bring in big figures from its mere 4 theaters, scoring one of the highest per-venue averages this weekend. Allen leads with Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page.
Other openers include Eros International's Teri Meri Kahaani, Live Bait Entertainment's The Last Ride documentary and Tribeca Films sends out Stella Days, starring Martin Sheen, Stephen Rea and Trystan Gravelle.
