Amanda Seyfried to play Cosette, Taylor Swift as Eponine in Les Miserables.
Tom Hooper's (The King's Speech) Les Mis may land both actresses, but none are confirmed as in or even in formal negotiations at this point, reports Empire (via Twitch).
They would join Hugh Jackman in the lead as Jean Valjean, as well as Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne forming other major parts of the cast.
Cosette is the grown daughter of Anne Hathaway's Fantine character, and the one who Valjean adopts. She gets involved in a love triangle between Marius (Redmayne) and Eponine.
Seyfried can be seen next in Heitor Dhalia's Gone thriller, alongside Jennifer Carpenter, Wes Bentley, Daniel Sunjata, Sebastian Stan and Joel David Moore. The actress is currently shooting the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace and is in post-production phase for Justin Zackham's The Wedding, starring with Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes, Topher Grace, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Marc Blucas and Christa Campbell. That film opens October 19th this year.
Swift lends her voice to the Audrey character in Universal's upcoming Dr. Seuss' The Lorax adaptation and was last seen in Garry Marshall's Valentine's Day.
