AMC renews its zombie TV series The Walking Dead for Season 3
Frank Darabont-created series The Walking Dead which impressed with strong cable ratings in its second premiere, now gets a third season run, reports Deadline.
Charlie Collier, AMC president said “Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew The Walking Dead for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels."
The second season started off with a huge 7.3 million total viewers, 4.8 million of which were adults aged between 18-49.
The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.
