Jennifer Jason Leigh has joined James Ponsoldt's The Spectacular Now, adapted from the Tim Tharp novel by (500) Days of Summer duo Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter.
The film stars Teller as a high school senior who tries to save an introvert (Woodley) from life as a social outcast.
Variety reports that The Spectacular Now which is currently shooting in Georgia, stars Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller, where Larson would play Teller's character's mother. Andrew Lauren Prods., Shawn Levy's 21 Laps and Global Produce are producing while Neustadter and Weber are serving as executive producers alongside Marc Shmuger, Ruth Mutch and Matthew Medlin.
Leigh was last seen alongside Ben Stiller in Greenberg and is in post-production phase for two films. The first is John Krokidas' Kill Your Darlings drama starring Daniel Radcliffe, Elizabeth Olsen, Kyra Sedgwick, Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster, David Cross, Jack Huston and Dane DeHaan. The other is Jane Weinstock's The Moment thriller with Martin Henderson and Alia Shawkat also starring.
