Anderson helms and scripts the drama which is set in the 1950s and tells of the relationship between the title character, a charismatic intellectual and leader of a faith-based organization that starts to become popular in America, and a young drifter who would become his right-hand man.
The cast also includes Laure Dern, Jesse Plemmons, Kevin J. O'Connor, W. Earl Brown and Lena Endre.
