The release date of Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master goes to Sept. 14th. Brad Pitt starrer Killing Them Softly to open Oct. 19th
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix and Laura Dern star in The Master, which is set in the 1950s and tells of the relationship between a charismatic intellectual called "the Master" whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man.
Rami Malek, Jesse Plemons, W. Earl Brown, Jillian Bell, Kevin J. O'Connor, Lena Endre and Ambyr Childers also form part of the cast.
The film opens with Screen Gems' action sci-fi horror Resident Evil: Retribution starring Milla Jovovich, as well as Summit Entertainment's Logan Lerman and Emma Watson starrer The Perks of Being a Walllflower and Disney's 3D re-incarnation of Finding Nemo.
Andrew Domink's Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, Scott McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Max Casella and Sam Shepard, opens against Paramount's fourth installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise, as well as the eagerly anticipated Typer Perry starrer Alex Cross. A.K.A. Cogan's Trade, the story follows Jackie Cogan (Pitt), a professional enforcer investigating a heist that took place during a mob-protected poker game.
