Director Joss Whedon and Walt Disney Pictures spent the last few weeks filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico but fans grew excited at another chance to become part of the production once the movie shifts location to Cleveland.
According to Cleveland.com, producers announced an open casting call for people 18-years of age and older at the Holiday Inn Independence today and tomorrow with the hope of securing some 2,000 people to fill crowd scenes for shooting in August.
Earlier in the week, producers with the film confirmed that NASA’s Plum Brook facility in Sandusky, Ohio became a location with plans to use its vacuum chamber than can duplicate the airless conditions of outer space.
The Avengers brings together many of the superheroes from the Marvel Universe including Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).
Earlier, Warner Bros. promoted the casting call for a film titled Magnus Rex to shoot in Pittsburgh from July 28 through August 21 but fans immediately guessed that it was a fake title for The Dark Knight Rises.
So superhero fans have the chance to pull double duty this summer and perform as extras in The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers.
