Sam Neill and Helen McCrory have boarded the BBC gangster show Peaky Blinders which follows a crime family in Birmingham, England. Variety reports that the show is being executive produced by Caryn Mandabach, known for Nurse Jackie, and has Neill as a new and ruthless police chief who's sent to take down the family. McCrory plays the matriarch.
They join previously the announced Cillian Murphy, Annabelle Wallis, Iddo Goldberg and Charlie Creed-Miles cast members.
Neill's known mostly for his part in Jurassic Park, was last in The Vow with Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams and Jessica Lange. He can be seen on the Alcatraz TV series and is in post-production on Mikael Håfström's Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger action sci-fi flick The Tomb.
Helen McCrory played Mama Jeanne in Martin Scorsese's Hugo and is up next in Sony's eagerly-anticipated Bond offering - Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Ben Wishaw, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe.
