Soon after Naomie Harris confirmed her role as the new Miss Moneypenny, the sassy assistant to Bond's Boss M, played by Judi Dench, First Showing reported on Amazing Spider-Man villain Rhys Ifans joining the upcoming Bond 23.
With Spider-Man (He’s The Lizard) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (Xenophilius Lovegood) under his belt, Ifans continued to pile up blockbuster franchises with a still-to-be-identified role in Bond 23.
Sam Mendes remained committed to direct the film with playwright Patrick Barber working on the original screenplay from John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
Filming on Bond 23, with Daniel Craig back as Agent 007, as well as Dench, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, is scheduled to begin filming later this year, reportedly in South Africa.
Up next for Ifans is a starring role in Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous in addition to The Amazing Spider-Man, which hits theaters next summer.
