It might be only be finding release in 2014, but Paul King's Paddington Bear gets a first poster. Scripted by Hamish McColl and King from the story by Michael Bond, the family film follows a young English boy who makes friends with a talking bear he finds at a London train station.
The live-action movie is based on Michael Bond's children's book series. Paddington Bear first appeared on Ocober 13th, 1958 and featured in several books, the most recent being in 2008. The character was a polite immigrant bear from Peru who loved marmalade sandwiches, wore an old hat, duffle coat and carried a beaten-up suitcase.
David Heyman produces Paddington Bear, which should charm kids with ease, at least overseas. Whether the film will perform well on U.S. soil is another thing.
