PACIFIC RIM casts Idris Elba as Sensi in Guillermo del Toro film

Idris Elba joins Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim as Sensi in action film.

Idris Elba will star in Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures' Pacific Rim which Guillermo del Toro is helming. Elba will play Sensi in the film which includes Charlie Hunnam and Charlie Day, reports Deadline.

Production starts this November with Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni producing.

In Pacific Rim, humankind comes together to fight against creatures out to take over the planet.

Elba is filming Ridley Scott's Prometheus and is in post-production on Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance starring Nicolas Cage.
