Trailer 2, poster and images for Battleship, starring Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson

The Peter Berg (Hancock)-directed and produced pic opens on May 18th, 2012 via Universal Pictures, inspired by Hasbro's very popular classic naval combat game

In Basttleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.

Wow! Am I watching Transformers? The sound effects, even the transforming part in the trailer, and the way it was shot, smacks of Transformers...I don't know so much about this one.

Taylor Kitsch plays Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker is Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancee, while Alexander Skarsgard plays Hopper's older brother, Stone, and also the Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson. Music sensation Rihanna is Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones and veteran Liam Neeson stars as Admiral Shane, father of Sam, and superior officer to Hopper and Sam.
