Morgan Freeman continued to work on the highly anticipated The Dark Rises, Christopher Nolan’s last film in his Batman trilogy, but he locked his next high-profile movie once production wraps on the Batman adventure.
Variety reported that Freeman was the latest cast addition to Now You See Me, starring Jesse Eisenberg as a magician who partners with fellow magic makers to pull off bank jobs during performances and shower their audiences with stolen money as the FBI works to catch them in the act.
Summit Entertainment came aboard to produce Now You See Me with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci of Kurtzman Orci Paper Products. Boaz Yakin wrote the script with Ed Ricourt and Louis Leterrier signed on to direct.
Earlier, Melanie Laurent, currently in the art-house hit Beginners, and Amanda Seyfried joined Mark Ruffalo and Eisenberg on the film.
Freeman looked to play the role of Thaddeus, an ex-magician who’s become despied within the magic community by exposing other magicians’ illusions.
Now You See Me is scheduled to be in cinemas 2014.
