Actress Mireille Enos, nominated for an Emmy for her role as Detective Sarah Linden on the acclaimed AMC drama The Killing, continued to reap the benefits of her standout performance in the gritty crime drama.
Variety reported today that Enos joined Gangster Squad in the role of Connie O’Mara, the pregnant wife of Josh Brolin’s character.
Scriptwriter Will Beall, a former Los Angeles cop, adapted the articles by Paul Lieberman about a squad of Los Angeles police officers battling organized crime lords like Mickey Cohen in the '40s and '50s.
Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn and Giovanni Ribisi joined the period drama with Ruben Fleischer directing.
Earlier, Emma Stone joined the film as a love interest caught between Gosling's cop character and crime boss Mickey Cohen, played in the movie by Penn.
Enos recently joined the zombie thriller World War Z as its female lead opposite star and producer Brad Pitt. Enos signed on to play wife of Pitt's character Max Brooks.
Matt Carnahan and J. Michael Straczynski adapted Max Brooks' novel about his fictional alter ego, a researcher with the UN Postwar Commission, who travels the war-torn landscape to interview survivors of the global zombie war ten years earlier.
