Comment on Mike Medavoy and Doug McKay to produce Ray Bradbury's 'Dandelion Wine'

Mike Medavoy and Doug McKay are set to take a drink of Dandelion Wine

Dandelion Wine is set in 1923 and takes place in Green Town, Illinois. First published in 1957, the title refers to a wine made with dandelion petals and other ingredients including citrus fruit.

The main character is 12-year-old Douglas Spalding, whose grandfather makes the dandelion wine; a metaphor for containing all the joys contained in summer within one bottle.

Apparently the boy is "loosely patterned" after Bradbury and most of the book focuses on the simple way of life of the past.

Dandelion Wine is a series of short stories which are loosely connected to summer occurrences and Douglas and his family as are recurring characters.
