Sarah Michelle Gellar, still Buffy the Vampire Slayer to her loyal fans, made a successful return to series TV this fall with the new CW drama RINGER.
Gellar, who plays two roles on the show, Bridget a woman on the run from the mob, and Bridget's wealthy twin sister Siobhan, who also has a bounty on her head, welcomed a new character to the lineup, Matthew Del Negro of The United States of Tara.
EW reported yesterday that Del Negro, who also played recurring characters on Rizzoli & Isles, The West Wing and The Sopranos, joined the CW series as Agent Grady Torrance, who joins Agent Victor Machado (Nestor Carbonell) on the case involving Bridget and the mob crime she witnessed.
Earlier, Gellar spoke about the challenge of playing twin sisters as well as the multiple layers of the drama.
"I think that we love film noir and we thought no one has done a great film noir on television," Gellar told EW. "We talk about water cooler TV shows. Well, film noir is the ultimate. Everyone stabs everyone in the back."
Ringer returns with new episodes Jan. 31, 2012.
