Mark Webber may star in Dimension Films' Angry Little God reboot of 13: Game of Death, which Dimension Films has just acquired.
The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World actor is in talks for the lead in the Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism) film based on the 2006 Thai thriller 13: Game of Death, reports Variety.
This news comes after Dimension just picked up the remake scripted by David Birke and Stamm, from the original film helmed by Chookiat Sakveerakul, and scripted by Eakasit Thairatana and Chookiat Sakveerakul.
Weinstein Co's Bob Weinstein stated that he was "blown away by Daniel Stamm's direction in 'The Last Exorcism'" and that he "wanted to work with him ever since."
Angry Little God follows a social services worker who has lost his job and is in a hefty amount of debt, but desperate to marry his girl. He has a shot at a better life when a mysterious call comes in, learning he's in a hidden game show and has to complete 13 tasks and win $6 million. He's in way over his head and trapped in a house of horrors.
Webber can be seen next in Focus Features' For a Good Time...Call, and is in post-production phase on Jessabelle for helmer Kevin Greutert (Saw VI, Saw 3D) alongside Sarah Snook, Joelle Carter, David Andrews, Amber Stevens, Ana de la Reguera, Larisa Oleynik and Chris Ellis.
