Lindsay Lohan generated plenty of attention this holiday season as a popular cover model for the January/February issue of Playboy. Lohan looked to receive a career boost from her Playboy photo spread as The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that independent producer Larry Thompson began early talks with Lohan about portraying Elizabeth Taylor for a Lifetime TV movie.
Thompson last worked with Lifetime on the 2010 TV movie Amish Grace starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
Lohan last appeared on-screen in a small role in Robert Rodriguez’s pulp action movie Machete but she continued to make headlines over her failure to fulfill her court-ordered therapy sessions and community service hours as part of her probation.
Lohan also remained attached to play Gotti's daughter-in-law Kim, the wife of John Gotti Jr in director Barry Levinson's highly publicized mob drama Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father starring John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston.
Fans, are you hopeful that Lohan will start off 2012 with new acting work instead of tabloid-generating controversy? What are your thoughts about Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor?
