The Imitation Game based on Alan Turing: The Enigma, may land Leonardo DiCaprio
Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up a spec script from Graham Moore, a first time screenwriter, focusing on Alan Turing.
Turing, born Alan Mathison Turing on June 23rd, 1912 was an English computer scientist, mathematician, logician and cryptanalyst who was highly influential in the development of computer science. With his Turing machine, he provided a formalization of the concepts of "algorithm" and "computation" which played a significant role in the creation of the modern computer. He is called the father of modern computer science and artificial intelligence. (Courtesy Wikipedia. Read more on Alan Turing here).
The Imitation Game was picked up for seven figures by Warners and sources say that DiCaprio is top of the list to play the lead, showing keen interest in the project. Also, Ron Howard may be on board as director as well.
Producers Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky who owned the rights to the Alan Turing: The Enigma biography, worked with Moore to get the script just right.
