Comics fanatic Kevin Smith Tweeted an early Christmas present to Batman fans worldwide via a Tweet containing three minutes of unused and alternative footage of Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning performance of the Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT. Watch Smith’s shared footage HERE!
Smith summed up the feelings of Dark Knight fans when he tweeted “I love this movie so much.”
Considering that fans have downloaded the trailer to director Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES 12.5 million times in its first 24 hours of release (breaking the previous record held by The Avengers), Smith understood that Batman fanatics were probably itching for something different to watch.
For The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale joined returning cast members Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon), Mogan Freeman (Lucius Fox) and Michael Caine (Alfred) on The Dark Knight Rises. Newcomers included Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle), Tom Hardy (Bane), Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Matthew Modine as Gotham City police officers.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20, 2012 but its prologue recently debuted before IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
Fans, there’s a lot of fantasy blockbusters heading our way in 2012 but is The Dark Knight Rises the film at the top of your excitement list?
