Former Playboy playmate, actress, model and author Jenny McCarthy might have one of the most diverse resumes in show business but she singled out her co-host duties on the ABC franchise NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE: THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY as a career highlight thanks to the chance to return and work a second time with former host and veteran producer Dick Clark and her famous co-host Ryan Seacrest.
“I will absolutely have a back and forth with Dick,” McCarthy told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s just in the studio because he’s smart and earned his way.”
McCarthy also praised Seacrest, who took over on-air hosting duties for the 82-year-old Clark who chose to spend less time in front of the camera after his 2004 stroke.
"Working with him last year, I went into thinking, I hope this guy insn’t cocky,” McCarthy said laughing. “I am not kidding when I say he was one of the nicest, most professional guys I’ve worked with and I say that after 17 years in this business. No ego, wonnderful, giving, helpful. He was awesome. That’s another reason why I’m back.”
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest airs 8 p.m. EST tonight with Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas hosting from Los Angeles and Jenny McCarthy and Ryan Seacrest hosting from Times Square with appearances by top acts including Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
