Shane Black's Iron Man 3 casts James Badge Dale as Eric Savin turned Coldblood
Variety reports that he star of Liam Neeson-frontlined The Grey, has joined the Shane Black film as Eric Savin who, in the Marvel comicbooks was a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel in charge of Project Ultra. However, when he steps on a land mine, he's given cybernetic surgery and becomes Coldblood, as shown below.

Iron Man 3 is scripted by Black and Drew Pearce, and goes into production some time this month.
Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley and Rebecca Hall star in the film which opens May 3rd next year.
For the plot, Black borrowed from the multi-issue story Iron Man: Extremis from Warren Ellis, looking at a spread of a virus via nanotechnology.
Badge Dale's up next in the Robert Zemeckis-directed and John Gatins (Real Steel, Dreamer, Coach Carter)-scripted Flight from Paramount, starring alongside Denzel Washington, Don Cheadle, Kelly Reilly, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and Bruce Greenwood. Two other large projects are Marc Forster's World War Z with Brad Pitt and Matthew Fox, as well as Disney's The Lone Ranger, with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer starring.
