Alfred Huermer's Integral Film is set to co-produce Peter Weir's The Keep along with Said Ben Said's SBS Productions, reports Variety. Weir, who directed films like Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, The Truman Show and Dead Poets Society, among other greats, helms the film based on the Jennifer Egan novel.
The story follows two cousins who are haunted by a childhood prank and now reunite after twenty years to renovate a German medieval castle. Pic will shoot next year on location in Thuringia, Germany and perhaps in Studio Babelsberg, located near Berlin.
Huemer and Ben Said produced Brian De Palma's Passion starring Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, Karoline Herfuirth and Paul Anderson. That mystery thriller was nominated for the Golden Lion at this year's Venice Film Festival, and has yet to find a theatrical release via distributor Entertainment One.
