Jumping the Broom writer Tracey Edmonds and Basketball Wives star Shaunie O'Neal untitled pitch tells of young woman who follows her husband to Miami after he's drafted into the NBA. Hurled into the world of professional sports, she meets and learns from other players' wives, learning from their trials and tribulations, reports Variety.
Jumping Broom co-scribe Elizabeth Hunter is set to write the screenplay, while O'Neal and Edmonds are producing via Our Stories Films.
O'Neal is the ex-wife of NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal who stars in "Basketball Wives," as well as executive-producing, so I would say it's really not that much of a surprising and refreshing story, considering.
"The beauty of a feature film is that we'll have the ability to dig much deeper into the stories and characters that come from this very colorful world and create a very juicy action packed narrative," Edmonds told Variety.
