According to The Hollywood Reporter, popular U.K. judge Cheryl Cole lost her job after only four days at The X-Factor and was replaced by Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.
Cole added to the behind-the-scenes drama by refusing to take back her old job on the U.K. version of X-Factor. In fact, Cole reportedly refused calls from producer Simon Cowell after she received the boot.
Instead of building up excitement for Cowell’s next TV franchise, fans wanted to know whether it was Cowell who fired Cole or Fox reality exec Mike Darnell.
Sources at Fox worked quickly to shift the blame from Darnell to Cowell.
“Mike has been a supporter of hers (Cole) from Day 1,” said the Fox source. “He’s been nothing but infatuated with her. Everyone here understands that Simon has a lot of say-so in his shows.”
Reports that Cowell was booted from X-Factor due to her low profile in the U.S., her British accent and her weight added extra insult to Cole’s firing.
Fans, do you think Cowell is Bad Guy No. 1 behind Cole’s firing?
Do you think Cole should have taken her old job back at the U.K. X-Factor?
More importantly, does all this chaos make less likely to watch The X-Factor when it premieres this fall?
