Focus Features and London-based production company Working Title Films announced today that Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall joined their upcoming thriller about an ex-couple who finds their lives in danger when they work as defense lawyers on a terrorism trial.
Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Amazing Grace) wrote the screenplay for the still-untitled movie and John Crowley (Intermission, Boy A) signed on to direct.
Focus, which planned to sell the film to international buyers at Cannes, announced an April production start for the movie.
Hall was last seen at Sundance in the Stephen Frears movie Lay The Favorite opposite Bruce Willis as well as the British ghost thriller The Awakening.
Eric Bana starred opposite Saoirse Ronan and Cate Blanchett in the female assassin adventure Hanna and recently wrapped on the crime drama Blackbird with Olivia Wilde and Charlie Hunnam.
The combination of Hall, Bana, Crowley as director and Knight as screenwriter is a serious film buff’s dream-come-true. No wonder the folks at Focus and Working Title are so excited about the project. Fingers crossed that the resulting movie is as good as the cast and crew on paper.
