Stephenie Meyer, author of Twilight and Fickle Fish Films option Lois Duncan's Down a Dark Hall.
Meghan Hibbett of Fickle Fish and Meyer are set to produce a feature-film based on Duncan's 1974 novel set in the Blackwood boarding school. Variety reports that the story follows a new student called Kit Gordy who must unravel the haunted, tragic history of Blackwood before it's too late.
Wyck Godfrey who produced the successful Twilight franchise, is currently in talks to return to duties for Down a Dark Hall.
Meyer's The Host adaptation opens via Open Road Films on March 29, 2013, with Saoirse Ronan starring alongside Max Irons, Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, William Hurt, Frances Fisher, Chandler Canterbury and Boyd Holbrook.
