Machete star Danny Trejo and M.C. Gainey last worked together as out-of-control convicts on a prison transport plane in director Simon West’s Con Air.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trejo and Gainey finally received a shot at an on-screen reunion when director Jeffrey Lando signed them to co-star in the Syfy original movie Haunted High.
Paul A. Birkett and Anthony C. Ferrante co-wrote the story starring Jonathan Baron as a student at Holloman Academy, a New England prep school trying to battle a demonic dead headmaster haunting the school.
Gainey joined the film as the haunted headmaster and Trejo signed on to play the school janitor who’s secretly its powerful guardian.
Charisma Carpenter of Buffy the Vampire Slayer also joined the cast.
Lando previously directed the TV horror movies House of Bones, Goblin and The Haunting of Sorority Row but Haunted High might turn out to be his first movie to play theaters before its broadcast premiere based on Syfy's plans for the movie.
