Warner Bros. Biopic Gets Ready to Impress
J. Edgar directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is set to make its World Premiere when opening the AFI Fest on November 3rd.
Variety notes that past Eastwood-helmed films have made their premieres at the New York Film Festival, however J. Edgar skipped as Warner Bros set the Nov. 9th release date, opening the possibility of making its debut at AFI.
Di Caprio stars as J. Edgar Hoover, founding director of the FBI, alongside Armie Hammer as Clyde Tolson, Josh Lucas as Charles Lindbergh and Naomi Watts as Helen Gandy.
J. Edgar Hoover was a feared as well as admired man while being the face of law enforcement in the U.S. for almost fift years. However, behind closed doors, he kept secret that could have destroyed his life, career and image.
Other cast includes Ed Westwick, Lea Thompson, Dermot Mulroney, Jeffrey Donovan, Stephen Root and Judi Dench.
