Chris Evans received a career boost thanks to his blockbuster hit this summer, director Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger.
Despite his action hero status, Evans remained committed to indie fare with extended talks to join South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho’s drama SNOW PIERCER.
Variety reported that Evans looked likely to join the movie, co-written by Joon-ho and fellow South Korean auteur Park Chan-wook, about travelers on a train trying to survive in a world blanketed by snow and ice. Chan-wook also boarded the project as producer via Moho Films, backing Joon-ho’s first domestic project.
Recently, Evans joined another indie drama, replacing James Franco as contract killer Richard Kuklinski on Ariel Vroman's adaptation of Anthony Bruno's book The Iceman.
Up next Evans reprises his role as Captain America in The Avengers featuring many of the superheroes from the Marvel Universe including Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).
