Inside Llewyn Davis, Spike Jonze project land Carey Mulligan.
Talented Carey Mulligan has landed a starring tole in the Coen brothers Inside Llewyn Davis as well as an untitled project for director Spike Jonze.
In Inside Llewyn Davis, which is set in the 1960s, Mulligan joins Oscar Isaac in a story which follows a singer-songwriter who navigates New York's folk music scene.
Ethan and Joel Coen write and helm, as well as producing with Scott Rudin.
Spike Jonze's project tells of world leaders who unite to discuss cataclysmic events. Here, Mulligan would be cast alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the Charlie Kaufman-scripted film produced by Annapurna Pictures' Megan Ellison.
Mulligan impressed with solid performances in FilmDistrict's Drive actioner with Ryan Gosling as well as sex-addiction drama Shame, starring with Michael Fassbender. She's currently filming Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby for Warner Bros. with Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire and Callan McAuliffe.
Plans are to start Inside Llewyn Davis in February next year, followed by the Untitled Spike Jonze Project some time in the spring.
