Paul Feig talks Bridesmaids 2, remains confident.
MTV spoke to Bridesmaids director Paul Feig, accompanied by co-star Wendy McLendon-Covey, where Feig shared his optimism for a sequel to the successful Bridesmaids; a project which might not include Kristen Wiig in a starring role. Or is Wiig in?
Reports come from The Hollywood Gossip which say that McLendon-Covey stated Wiig may be involved in the sequel, but can't work on it at this time. Perez Hilton reports that other co-star Melissa McCarthy also says that no decisions have been made regarding Wiig's involvement, stating "This is not true at all. That was a comment that someone made without having the authority to make it."
Still, Feig remained in good spirits about any addition to Bridesmaids, stating to MTV that "We're all optimisitic. We would love to do it. Working together was so much fun, and everybody's busy now, but if it could come together and be as good or better than the first one, I think we'd all love to do it."
