After plenty of production news from their shoot in Romania, writers/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor prepared for the box office verdict from genre fans as Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the 3D Ghost Rider sequel starring Nicolas Cage as the flaming hero Johnny Blaze and Idris Elba as a warrior monk, finally reached opening weekend.
According to Deadline, Taylor signed on for his next action movie; minus Neveldine, his filmmaker cohort on Crank, its sequel Crank: High Voltage and Gamer.
Taylor signed on with Sony to write and direct an action movie based on its video game franchise TWISTED METAL, a spin on Death Race 2000 with colorful characters battling each other in tricked-out cars and trucks.
Of course Taylor’s deal to write and direct Twisted Metal didn’t stop him from hinting at another Ghost Rider movie with Neveldine; that is if fans react well to the movie.
Comic fans, are you excited to see what Neveldine and Taylor have in store for Cage's Johhny Blaze? You have to admit that the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance trailers hint at one of the most over-the-top, comic book movies in recent memory.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, starring Cage, Christopher Lambert, Ciaran Hinds as a devilish villain, Violante Placido and Idris Elba opens Friday.
