Boyd Holbrook who starred as Kevin Costner's son in Hatfields & McCoys, has joined the Little Accidents drama. Variety reports that Sara Colangelo who made the 2010 short of the same name which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Fest, will script as well as direct the feature film version.
Epoch Films' Mindy Goldberg produces the film alongside Anne Carey (Adventureland) with a story set in a small U.S. mining town which suffers from a tragic mining accident, leaving 12 men dead. The story focuses on the tragedy and redemption, interweaving the lives of three people. Holbrook plays a lone survivor, the others are a mourning mother and a fourteen-year-old boy who has his own secrets.
Aside from Little Accidents, Holbrook can be seen next in the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host, starring Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Jake Abel and Max Irons. He was recently in Morgan Freeman starrer The Magic of Belle Isle and is in post production on several offerings. He's with Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker and Sam Shepard in Scott Cooper's Out of the Furnace drama, which is currently in post-production phase. Also, he's done working on Naomi Foner's Very Good Girls with Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Ellen Barkin, Clark Greg, Demi Moore and Richard Dreyfuss.
TV-wise, he's worked on the Liberace TV movie Behind the Candelabra starring Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Rob Lowe, Dan Aykroyd, Debbie Reynolds and Scott Bakula. Another
