While Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K and Will Smith as Agent J continued work on director Barry Sonnenfeld’s third installment of the popular sci-fi franchise Men In Black 3, Boardwalk Empire star Michael Stuhlbarg (pictured as gangster Arnold Rothstein in Boardwalk Empire) joined the comic ensemble as the newest cast member.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Stuhlbarg signed on to play Griffin, a role once rumored for District 9 star Shartlo Copley.
Jemaine Clement previously joined the cast as the main villain, who travels back in time to 1969 in order to kill a young Agent K (Josh Brolin).
With the 3D film currently in production, Columbia scheduled Men In Black 3 for release May 25, 2012.
Stuhlbarg also recently wrapped a role in Martin Scorsese’s first 3D drama, an adaptation of the children’s book Hugo Cabret.
