HBO pilot Missionary casts Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter star Benjamin Walker in spy drama
Walker joins the drama written by Charles Randolph, where he'll play an American missionary caught up in Cold War intrigue while aiding a young woman in escaping East Berlin.
Variety reports that Stephen Levinson, author Malcolm Gladwell and Mark Wahlberg are executive producing the pilot alongside Randolph. Missionary reteams Wahlberg with Contraband helmer Baltasar Kormakur, who directs the pilot.
Walker's in post-production phase onHBO Films' Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight helmed by Stephen Frears, starring alongside Christopher Plummer, Danny Glover, Frank Langella, Barry Levinson, Bob Balaban, Ed Begley Jr., Pablo Schreiber and Harris Yulin. Ali also appears in archive footage.
