Ashton Kutcher replaced fired TWO AND A HALF MEN star Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS sitcom and delivered all the strong ratings and audience acclaim the Eye network wanted.
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler pleased the show’s army of fans today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Tour by announcing that CBS was in extended talks with Kutcher about returning next season as the broken-hearted billionaire named Walden Schmidt.
“We’ve had an amazing year,” Tassler told the assembled press, according to Variety.
Earlier, co-creator Chuck Lorre and the cast answered questions from the press with Kutcher being slightly more reserved than Tassler when the subject of next season came up.
Kutcher did describe his current Two and Half Men contract as “kind of a test deal” and said he would be “interested in coming back if we can work it out.”
Based on the comments publicly aired by the CBS boss, the chances of Kutcher and CBS coming to an agreement looked very good.
Two and a Half Men fans, are you hopeful Kutcher returns?
Two and a Half Men, with returning leads Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones and newcomer Ashton Kutcher, airs Monday nights on CBS.
