Alexandre Aja To Helm UNDYING LOVE!

03/07/2012 by Steve Ramos | Source: Deadline

Director Alexandre Aja first wowed genre fans with his French sci-fi Furia, starring Marion Cotillard no less, and his clever slasher film High Tension, featuring an amazing performance by Cécile De France.

Aja crossed the Atlantic to work on Hollywood genre fare including his remake of The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, and his 3D reboot of the cult classic Piranha

Deadline confirmed Aja’s latest genre project; an adaptation of the Image Comics title UNDYING LOVE created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman. Coker and Freedman also wrote the adapted script about a soldier who falls in love with a vampire and battles her creator and his army of monsters in the underbelly of Hong Kong.

Aja stayed busy lately writing the horror remake Maniac and prepping the comedy The Gospel According to Jimmy, the action movie The Contractor and the outer space fantasy Cobra - The Space Pirate, based on a popular Japanese manga that was adapted into an animated series. Aja also added to his project list by boarding Horns, based on Joe Hill's horror novel about a 26-year-old who wakes up from a drunken blackout with horns growing from his head and discovering his girlfriend murdered. Scott Bunin adapted Hill's novel and Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman of Mandalay Pictures joined as producers.

Aja fans, what are your thoughts on Horns and Undying Love? Do you like his choice in projects?
