Alexander Skarsgard, star of HBO's "True Blood," is in talks to join The East with Brit Marling.
The thriller co-written by Marling and Zat Batmanglij (The Sound of My Voice) tells of a female agent who infiltrates an eco-terrorist group called The East.
Should he land the role, Skarsgard would play the leader of the group bent on revenge against unethical corporations. Scott Free Productions' Michael Costigan produces the movie which is looking at an October to November start-of-shooting date at this time.
Zat Batmanglij is also directing The East.
Skarsgard is up next in Rod Lurie's Straw Dogs with James Marsden and Kate Bosworth as well as Lars von Trier's Kirsten Dunst starrer Melancholia and Universal's Battleship actioner.
