New Line Cinema has picked up a Spy Guys pitch from Due Date writer Adam Sztykiel which Jorma Taccone is set to direct.
Rickard Pictures' John Rickard produces alongside Lonely Island Boys and Taccone, with a story concerning a CIA operative who, while in Europe attending a friend’s wedding, is framed and becomes an enemy of the state. With no one to turn to, his only choice is to reveal his true identitiy to his normal friends, and get their aid in escaping, only to become wanted themselves. Now, the whole group's on the run.
Sztykiel also wrote Made of Honor, starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan as well as the upcoming ABC TV movie Awesometown, starring Amanda Crew, Ben Rappaport and James Earl.
